Who are we?
JACQUES Initiative (JI), is a program of the Institute of Human Virology (IHV), at the University of Maryland School of Medicine, offering HIV and Hepatitis C (HCV) related health care services, including prevention, testing, education, linkage to care and supportive services. JACQUES Initiative partners with the THRIVE Program, whose services include treatment for HIV and other infectious diseases.

Grand Opening of IHV’s JACQUES Initiative Journey Center
October 18, 2018
The newly launched Journey Center promotes wellness, health equity, inclusiveness and social justice with the intention of allowing Baltimore’s most vulnerable citizen’s to live free of or live well with, HIV and Hepatitis C. One of a kind in Baltimore, the Center provides, on-site health screenings, peer support, computer lab access, health education, and Support Groups in an LGBTQ + affirming environment.
